George Brown basketball will open the seasons second half on Friday night when Centennial pays a visit to the Huskies at Casa Loma Campus.

The men's team (9-1, 1st east) is coming off an incredibly successful two tournament run over the holiday break, having gone 2-1 at the highly competitive East/West Classic and following that up with a perfect 3-0 record to win the 41st Annual Huskies Men's Basketball Tournament.

Liban Mohamed, Chris Fields and Kingslee D'Silva starred at different points, with Mohamed pouring in 84 points on 31-for-66 shooting from the floor and 17-for-41 from beyond the arc in a tour de force offensively at the East/West Classic. The crafty wing leads a balanced Huskies offence that boasts four double-figure scorers, averaging over 15 points a night.

Fields was named MVP at the Huskies Classic, scoring 45 points along with 21 rebounds to lead the Huskies to the clean sweep. Alongside Teshayn Gayle, George Brown boasts one of the strongest one-two punches at point guard in the country. D'Silva was the weekend's dominant force down low, as the 6'5" Mississauga native bullied his way to a 48 point, 31 rebound three-game performance in which he shot over 50% from the field.

Centennial heads into the night with a record of 6-4.

The women's team (8-1, 1st east) head into the second half having won six straight on the back of an impressively balanced team that ranks fourth in points per game and sixth in points against. The Huskies rank among the OCAA's top ten in nearly every crucial statistical category, including first in offensive rebounding, second in steals, third in total rebounding and fourth in converted free throws.

Tianna Sullivan (17.8 ppg), Zae Sellers (14.4 ppg) and Kiyann Grimaldo (12ppg) have paced George Brown offensively, all making key contributions to a fast-paced attack. Eight Huskies are averaging at least 15 minutes a night for an impressively deep squad.

Centennial heads into the matchup with a record of 1-8.
