COSTANZO, GAAL LEAD WAY AS HUSKIES IMPROVE TO 13-2 AFTER 95-57 WIN OVER COYOTES

George Brown men's basketball poured it on early and didn't take their foot off the gas on Saturday afternoon in a 95-57 win over La Cite that pushed the Huskies to 13-2 on the season.

Five Huskies hit double-figures in the route, led by 13 point outputs from Khadar Gaal and Adam Costanzo for a well-balanced attack. The home side shot a blistering 52.6% from beyond the arc, with Gaal and Costanzo combining to go 6-for-11 from three and Haany Ahmed following up last night's 22-point performance with another double-digit scoring night that included a pair of triples.

George Brown raced out to a 21-10 lead after ten minutes, and put things away for good in the second quarter, outscoring the Coyotes 36-14 to take a 33-point advantage into the half. The win extends the Huskies home unbeaten streak to eight, only two away from a perfect regular season at Casa Loma.

George Brown's depth came up big as it has so often this season, with the Huskies bench outscoring La Cite 42-8. Kevon Guisseppi-Mascoe (11 points, 3-for-4 from three) and Kingslee D'Silva (10 points, seven rebounds) paced the bench mob.

With the win George Brown remains tied with 13-2 Seneca for top spot in the east division. It continues to shape up that the regular season finale between the two may well decide the east division crown.

Next up for the Huskies is a visit to Loyalist on Friday, February 1st.
