Matchup Durham/Fleming @ George Brown
Date Sunday, February 10
Time Women 1:00 p.m. I Men 3:00 p.m.
Location Casa Loma Campus
George Brown basketball will play host to the Durham Lords and Fleming Knights on Sunday afternoon at Casa Loma Campus with the regular season inching closer to a close.
The men's team (14-3, 2nd east) are just a game back of Seneca for top spot in the east and will host the Sting in their regular season finale, a game that has the potential to crown the division champion.
Four Huskies are currently averaging double-figures, led by Liban Mohamed's 14.5 points a night. Adam Costanzo and Kingslee D'Silva have teamed up to form an imposing frontcourt, combining to average nearly 24 points and 16 boards a night while providing stellar interior defence for one of the OCAA's toughest groups to score on.
Winter semester addition Christian Tabiri has been excellent since joining the Huskies, hitting double-figures in each of his first three games and continuing that strong play as the semester has progressed. Tabiri is averaging over nine points on 52% shooting from the field, and joins Kevon Guiseppi-Mascoe and Mohamed to form an elite wing rotation.
George Brown defeated Fleming 105-62 in December.
The women's team (11-3, 2nd east) is a half-game up on Durham for second spot in the east, and a win on Sunday would assure them a second place finish in the division.
Tianna Sullivan has led George Brown on the offensive side of the ball, with last years scoring champion averaging a team-high 17.8 points a night on nearly 50% shooting from the floor. Point guard Zae Sellers has established herself among the best points guards in the province in her first season with the program, and her impact goes well beyond her already impressive stats.
The Huskies defeated Durham 73-71 earlier this season.
