George Brown basketball is looking to send both programs to the OCAA Championship for the second consecutive season on Saturday afternoon when they host a pair of crossover matchups at Casa Loma.
The men's team (17-3, 2nd east) will attempt to qualify for their third consecutive OCAA Championship when Lambton (10-10, 6th west) visits.
Currently ranked no. 2 in the province and winners of three straight, the Huskies are a perfect 10-0 at home and dating back to last season have won 17 straight games at Casa Loma.
Kevon Guiseppi-Mascoe wrapped up his regular season career in style last week in a win over Seneca, and the veteran wing will be crucial come playoff time. Having helped lead the program to a provincial silver medal and national championship appearance two years ago, Guiseppi-Mascoe's experience and big game chops should prove critical for a team with title aspirations.
Lambton is always a tough out come playoff time; the Lions are 3-6 on the road this season.
The women's team (14-3, 2nd east) are in search of their second consecutive championship appearance, and have an opportunity for a little payback against a Niagara (11-9, 6th west) program that knocked them out of medal contention last season.
George Brown goes into the weekend ranked no. 5 in the province, winners of five straight and boasting an 8-1 record at Casa Loma.
The duo of Tianna Sullivan and Zae Sellers have been among the most dangerous in the entire country, combining to average over 32 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and six steals while leading a team that ranks among the OCAA's top five in nearly all major statistical categories.
Niagara is 5-6 away from home this season.
