The Huskies Men's Volleyball team is making its name heard early in the 2019-20 OCAA season. The team has yet to lose a game this year, coming out of the gates 3-0 and winning each game in straight sets.

They did not disappoint the home crowd in their first games of the season this past weekend at the St James Campus Athletic Centre. Backed by strong performances from veterans leftsides Yuseph Jackman and Stefane Vezina, the Huskies are playing with confidence and energy that the opposition is having a hard time keeping up with.

Head Coach Garrett May is enjoying the spirit his team is bringing to the court to start the season. "Really happy to see our guys play at such a high level and with a strong belief in themselves. It's fun to watch."

In Saturday's match against College La Cite, after winning the opening set 25-21 the Huskies took full control dominating the second by a score of 25-12. The team was incredibly efficient with eight kills off nine attacks and only two errors (set percentage of .667). They would continue on with strong play in the third (25-17), sweeping the visiting Coyotes in straight sets.

Sunday afternoon proved to be no different for the Huskies, where they would once again show their dominance at the net racking up 35 kills in a game against the Algonquin Thunder on route to another 3-0 victory (25-11, 25-20, 25-22). Also a standout performer over the weekend was rookie setter Grayson Engelman who tallied 51 assists over the two games, earning himself a George Brown Huskies Athlete of the Week nod for the first time.

The team looks to continue its strong play as they take their undefeated record to Belleville on Sunday November 3rd in a matchup against the Loyalist Lancers. Game is scheduled for 3pm. Follow all the action on OCAA Live from our LiveStream Page!
