Super Game Day lived up to its billing on Saturday afternoon, as George Brown basketball jumped all over St. Lawrence and never let up, earning a pair of blowout victories at St. James.
The women's team (4-1, 1st east) got out to an early lead over the Vikings, up 18-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Huskies outscored their opponents by 10, 14, 12 and 16 in respective quarters to earn the 98-46 win.
Reigning OCAA League Scoring Champion Tianna Sullivan led the charge offensively, finishing with a game-high 23 points on 10-for-20 shooting from the field. Sullivan was an equally effective distributor, equalling point guard Zae Sellers with a team-high eight assists.
Forwards Kiyann Grimaldo, Coco Sauve and Francesca Bellini combined to dominate the frontcourt, totalling 41 points and 15 rebounds between them. In addition to her eight assists, Sellers finished with 19 points and four steals on the night.
The men's team (6-0, 1st east) absolutely dominated from the opening tip, cruising to a 112-67 victory and staying perfect on the season. An impressive six Huskies hit double digits, led by Adam Costanzo's 16 point, eight rebound performance.
Robert Ocampo, Kingslee D'Silva, Liban Mohamed, Haany Ahmed and Kevon Guiseppi-Mascoe all finished with 11 or more points, as George Brown pounded the visitors in transition, outscoring the visitors 36-1 in transition.
The Huskies also held a 36-19 advantage in second-chance points, and outscored the Vikings 54-22 off the bench.
Next up, the Huskies will visit Seneca for a massive pair of road games. The women's game gets underway at 6:00 p.m., men's game gets underway at 8:00 p.m.
