George Brown basketball will play host to the Algonquin Thunder on Friday night at Casa Loma Campus.

The women's team (9-2, 2nd east) face the Thunder in the season's rubber match after splitting a road doubleheader early in the year. Algonquin sits at 10-1; this game may well decide the east division champion, as both have looked nearly unbeatable against the rest of the division and the winner will hold the tie-breaker come season's end.

The Huskies defence has been their calling card - they have held opponents to 60 points or less in six of eleven regular season games, while grabbing at least 19 steals in five. Their full-court press has been lethally effective, and the forced turnovers are a big reason that George Brown ranks fourth in the province (74ppg) in scoring, as they have turned those turnovers into easy transition points on a consistent basis.

The first two matchups were decided by a combined five points, so you can be sure it will be a dogfight in the biggest game of the year to date.

The men's team (11-2, 2nd east) are locked in a tight battle with Seneca for top spot in the east, currently sitting a half game back. George Brown is looking to stay perfect at home, and they defeated Algonquin by 21 on the road earlier this season.

Second half addition Christian Tabiri has looked great in three games of action this semester. The 6'6" Toronto native has hit double figures in each of his appearances and exploded for 20 points on 10-for-13 shooting against Durham last week. Alongside Kingslee D'Silva, the Huskies boast as athletic, versatile a frontcourt as anyone in the province.
