George Brown volleyball will open the winter semester on Saturday afternoon when they play host to Algonquin at St. James Campus.

The men's team 6-4 record has them sitting fifth in the east at the season's midpoint, and after a so-so start the year George Brown reeled off three straight wins to close the semester. The Huskies non-stop attack mentality (1st in OCAA with 1,120 total attacks) has worn opponents down as they have had great success in the latter stages of close matches.

They reeled off three consecutive wins at the Fleming Invitational over the break, qualifying for the finals before falling to a tough Trent opposition. Overall, the home side has won six of their past seven outings.

Vivek Mathimakki, Yuseph Jackman and Perry Kumi have paced a balanced Huskies attack, combining for 328 points and 255 kills during the fall semester.

The women currently sit at 3-7, having bookended the seasons first half with a pair of opening wins and one to close the half. The quartet of Beatriz Vilches, Tiana Samuel, Ashley Lau and Jessica Barrios have led George Brown at the net. The four are combining to average over 11 points per set and also have done extremely well with the serve, with over 50 service aces.
