The George Brown Huskies men's volleyball team is excited to announce the commitment of Daryll Jose to the program ahead of the 2025-26 season.
"It was important to recruit Daryll to the men's volleyball program to bring in some young energy onto the team. He is coming from a successful Phoenix 18U Boy's program and has been exposed to high-quality coaching at the club" second-year head coach Tyler Latu'ila explained.
Jose can't wait to be a part of the Huskies.
"I didn't believe it at first but as it settled in I was relieved and excited," he explained. "I decided to commit to George Brown College because I heard the community has an amazing culture and It is something I want to be apart of."
He is a versatile player with experience as both an outside hitter and libero. Latu'ila believes he has the perfect characteristics to thrive as a libero in the league.
"Daryll is a quick on his feet and has a solid technical foundation that we're looking to adapt to the OCAA level. He is transitioning from left-side to libero and we think he can really push our other athletes in serve-reception and defence," the coach said.
Jose has two years of experience playing for the Phoenix Volleyball Club and was part of the 2020-2021 TDSAA Junior Boys Championship team. He will be enrolling in the Business Administration – Marketing program and is ready to tackle challenges both on the court and in the classroom.
"I was told that I could play at the next level from a coach and it inspired me to pursue it even more," the 5'10 player stated. "I hope to achieve a higher level of determination both on the court playing and in the classroom studying."
