The 2018 East/West Holiday Classic wrapped up on Saturday, with six of the OCAA's top men's basketball programs competing at Casa Loma, three apiece from the east and west division.
George Brown showed why they currently sit atop the east standings and hold the #2 ranking in Ontario, bouncing back after a loss to Humber with consecutive wins over Fanshawe and Sheridan to close the tournament. Liban Mohamed was nothing short of spectacular, following up his 57-point day one output with a game-high 27 in a 105-87 win over the Bruins on Saturday. Mohamed shot 10-for-17 from the floor, including 7-for-14 from beyond the arc, and added seven rebounds and six assists in an all-around dominant performance.
Robert Ocampo had his second standout game in as many days, scoring 25 points on 6-for-12 shooting from beyond the arc, while power forward Adam Costanzo notched an 18 point, 11 rebound double-double in the win.
Humber went a perfect 3-0 over the two-day tournament, while Sheridan matched George Brown's 2-1 record.
Huskies men's basketball will open the second half Friday, January 11 when they play host to Centennial at Casa Loma Campus.
