The George Brown Huskies men's volleyball team shutout the Seneca Sting 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-20) in the season finale at St. James Athletic Centre on Friday night.
Notable Stats: Vivek Mathimakki posted a game-high 13 points, off 10 kills, two blocks an ace. He was very efficient as well registering a season-high .563 hit percentage.
In his last regular-season match with the Huskies, middle blocker Aric Chau recorded a career-high nine points on five kills, three aces and a block. Outside hitter Franstelle PeBenito was not too far behind with eight points off six kills and two blocks.
The Huskies end the season with a 9-9 record, which places them in sixth in the East division.
Up Next: George Brown will travel to Niagara to battle the Knights (12-6, 3rd in West) in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday, February 22nd. First serve is at 3:00pm.
2019-2020 Men's Volleyball Graduating Student-Athletes
#2 Aric Chau is a 1st-year middle blocker from Vaughan, Ontario, who has played in 12 matches this season. He has helped the squad in numerous ways such as recording six points in four matches this season. Aric will be graduating from the Building Reno program.
#15 Grayson Engelman has played very well in his first season with the Huskies. The setter from Toronto, Ontario has appeared in 18 matches this season and led the team with 6.52 assists per set. He will be graduating from the Sport and Event Marketing Program.
#18 Andrew Ebreo is in his first season with the Huskies. The setter from Mississauga, Ontario has appeared in 13 matches while averaging 4.74 assists per set. He will be graduating from the Intermediate Electrical Apprenticeship program.
