The George Brown Huskies women's volleyball team is pleased to announce Hayleigh Marshall as their first recruit for the 2025-2026 season.
"Hayleigh is an incredibly versatile and hardworking athlete. Early on we recognized that Hayleigh is a highly coachable athlete who brings experience in the OVA and previous training from some great coaches," head coach Daphne Choi explained. "Additionally she is incredibly kind and her work ethic is a perfect match for the team culture we have re-established this year and are excited to see solidified for the 2025-2026 season."
The outsider hitter brings extensive experience to the Huskies, having played two seasons for the Scarborough Synergy and five seasons with the Durham Attack. She has been part of teams ranked in the Top 30 Provincially and has competed in the National Championships over the past three years. She is eager to begin the next chapter of her volleyball journey with the Huskies.
"My initial reaction was excitement and accomplishment. Playing volleyball in college has always been something I've wanted to do, so it became a reality, which was exciting news," Marshall explained. "I decided to commit to George Brown College because I thought it would be a great opportunity to continue learning in school and on the court."
Coach Choi is excited to welcome Marshall to the team, noting the unique elements she brings to the program.
"Hayleigh's got a great serve and a mean swing. She has the ability to be effective from numerous positions on the court, and is a supportive teammate who connects easily both on and off the court," the head coach said.
Marshall will enroll in the Business Administration program. Come September, she's ready to excel both on the court and in the classroom.
"On the court I hope to improve my overall skills and to become more confident. In the classroom I hope to achieve 80s or above in all of my classes," she explained.
