George Brown men's volleyball will look to get 2019 off on the right foot Friday when they travel to Peterborough for the Fleming Invitational.
The two-day tournament features two groups of four teams, with the winner of each group facing off in Saturday's final. George Brown will take on Fleming, Loyalist and Trent in round robin play, while Group B consists of Centennial, La Cite, Cambrian and Universite' de Saint Bonifice.
The Huskies 6-4 record has them sitting fifth in the east at the season's midpoint, and after a so-so start the year George Brown reeled off three straight wins to close the semester. The Huskies non-stop attack mentality (1st in OCAA with 1,120 total attacks) has worn opponents down as they have had great success in the latter stages of close matches.
Vivek Mathimakki, Yuseph Jackman and Perry Kumi have paced a balanced Huskies attack, combining for 328 points and 255 kills during the fall semester.
