Christian Tabiri would be stellar for George Brown over the weekend, helping push the Huskies into the #1 position in the OCAA.
On Saturday November 23rd vs the then-#1 ranked Loyalist Lancers, Tabiri shot a red-hot 77%, going 10 for 13 from the floor and finishing with 23 points on the evening. He also gathered 10 rebounds (5 offensive) and four assists. All, in only 28 minutes of play.
His strong and reliable play continued into Sunday when the Huskies faced the St. Lawrence College Vikings. Tabiri would again turn in a high shooting percentage going 10 of 15 from the floor (24 points) with three 3-pointers, while also collecting five rebounds.
Lawrence continued to shine this past weekend in back-to-back double-digit wins against the Loyalist Lancers and St. Lawrence Vikings. The second-year transfer student has been a huge contributor to the Huskies' starting line up since joining the team this season. On Saturday, the Community Worker program major hit three 3's on route to a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds, while also recording three assists and two steals.
On Sunday, it was much of the same as she shot 5-9 from the floor and a near perfect 8-10 from the free throw line. Her aggressive style of play translated to six steals, seven rebounds and 18 total points on the afternoon.
Lawrence is averaging nearly a double-double on the season, with 16.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
