Matchup George Brown @ Seneca
Date Wednesday, October 10
Time Game 1 5:00 p.m. I Game 2 7:00 p.m.
Location Bishops Cross
George Brown baseball will close the 2018 season on Wednesday night when they pay the Seneca Sting a visit at Bishops Cross.
The Huskies can win the season series with a sweep of the Sting after splitting a home-opening doubleheader earlier in the year, and a pair of wins would also see them exceed their 2017 win total.
For the second consecutive season it has been the duo of Robin Fox-Pappas and Anthony Buonaiuto who have led the charge offensively. The pair are hitting .371 and .356 respectively, with .500 and .397 on-base percentageS and a combined 17 runs driven in. Buonaiuto was named a 2017 All-Star, and both figure to garner strong consideration this season.
The most promising developments have come on the mounD, where several Huskies have stepped up and shown themselves to be reliable arms. David de Cassan and Quentin Fleming have both impressed, combining to pitch 47 relatively effective innings for a staff that has needed it badly. Alongside first-year starter Jack Middleton's substantial improvement as the year has gone on, the rotation has much to build on going forward.
Seneca heads into Wednesday's action with a record of 2-12.
