Time Game 1 6:00 p.m. I Game 2 8:00 p.m.
Location Christie Pits
George Brown baseball will play host to Humber on Wednesday night in a pair of near must-win games.
The Huskies have won three straight games by a combined score of 29-2, including a huge regular season win over Durham and a pair of convincing exhibition wins over Fleming over the weekend.
Without the services of outfielder Robin Fox-Pappas (currently second in the OCAA in RBI's), Anthony Buonaiuto and Tyler Doney among others will be leaned on to pick up the slack offensively. Buonaiuto is currently hitting .385 with a .500 slugging percentage, while Doney boasts a .444 on-base percentage and .357 slugging percentage.
After his seven-inning gem against St. Clair, David de Cassan figures to get more work on the mound. The second-year Nobleton native boasts a 3.50 era with four strikeouts through eight innings of work, and along with John Lamanna (3.65 era) will be critical to the Huskies pitching hopes. Newcomers Jack Middleton and Joe Giansante looked solid in appearance against the Knights and will also be leaned on going forward.
Besides Humber the Huskies will visit St. Clair and Fanshawe over the weekend, making this a make-or-break week. George Brown has shown they can compete with Ontario's best and will have to do it over the next five days.
Game one is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m., follow @GBC_Huskies on twitter for updates throughout.
