George Brown baseball will celebrate seniors night on Wednesday when they wrap up their 2018 home schedule with a doubleheader against the Durham Lords.

The Huskies have been much-improved this season despite a record currently ten games under .500, having lost five games by two runs or fewer and playing an impressive road stretch this past weekend. George Brown went west for the always tough Fanshawe-St. Clair swing, and were tied or leading late in the game three of four times out. The program is clearly on the cusp of competing for a playoff spot.

Young pitchers Jack Middleton and David de Cassan went six innings apiece in a pair of impressive outings against St. Clair on Sunday, boding well for the future of the staff. Both pitchers have looked better and better as the season has worn on, and alongside John Lamanna and Quentin Fleming for a rapidly-improving four-man rotation.

Offensively, Dallas Pearce and Anthony Buonaiuto have done much of the heavy lifting. The pair has combined for 14 RBI's and 24 hits at the top of the order - the return of Robin Fox-Pappas (.483, 10 RBI's, 2 HR) will be a major boost as well.
