FOUR HUSKIES NAMED CCAA ACADEMIC ALL-CANADIANS

The George Brown Huskies are extremely proud of four student-athletes who excelled in both the classroom and competition, earning recognition as CCAA Academic All-Canadians for the 2025–26 season.

The four are, women’s soccer players Iman Bhanji and Annia Pavli, men’s soccer midfielder Marsel Ismaili, and women’s basketball guard Jayme Foreman.

The CCAA Academic All-Canadian Award recognizes student-athletes who combine honours-level academic achievement with elite athletic performance, highlighting those who excel both in their studies and in their respective sports.

Foreman put together a season to remember for the Huskies. She ranked second in the province in points per game (18.7) and proved to be one of the best shooters in the conference, ranking first in free throw percentage (88.9%), fourth in three-point percentage (34.6%), and 13th in field goal percentage (41.8%). She was named an OCAA East Division First Team All-Star and took home the Huskies Female Athlete of the Year award.

Bhanji was a defensive anchor for the Huskies, and her peers took notice, naming her an OCAA East Division Second Team All-Star. She was an ironwoman, starting every match and never missing a minute. Her leadership was also key for the team, both vocally and through her example on the field.

After missing the entire 2024 season with a torn ACL, Pavli came back with a vengeance, earning OCAA East Division Second Team All-Star honours. No matter the responsibilities given, the midfielder was effective both offensively and defensively. She led the team with a career-high two goals, one of which stood as the game-winner.

Ismaili experienced his best season as a Husky, earning OCAA East Division Second Team All-Star honours and marking the first OCAA honour of his career. Throughout the year, he served as one of the team’s key veterans, providing leadership and consistency on the defensive side while also contributing offensively. He tallied a career-high two goals in nine matches, starting eight of them.
