The George Brown Huskies erased an 11-point deficit to beat the Centennial Colts 66-63 at home on Friday (Feb. 6) night.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Centennial jumped out to an early 23-12 lead as the Huskies struggled offensively. Still down 11, George Brown started to find their groove. They drilled three-pointers on three straight possessions to kick-start an 11-0 run, cutting the deficit to 32-30 at the half.
The third quarter continued to be a back-and-forth affair, with only a single basket separating the two sides at 53-50 heading into the final frame. George Brown found another level, opening the quarter on a 7-0 run to take a four-point lead. The Colts clawed their way back to go up 63-62, but with just over 70 seconds left, Emmanuela Nwokorie grabbed an offensive rebound and scored the final bucket of the game.
NOTABLE STATS: Jayme Foreman led the charge with 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and a steal, while Anan Abbatulam chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a steal.
UP NEXT: The Huskies (6-6) play their final regular-season home game against the Seneca Sting (9-3) on Wednesday (Feb. 11) night. Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm. Prior to the game, the team will honour their graduating student-athletes.
