The George Brown Huskies won a tight 62–59 game against the St. Lawrence Surge on the road Sunday (Nov. 30) afternoon to wrap up 2025 with a win.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Seven Huskies recorded a basket in the opening 10 minutes as the team jumped out to a 21–10 lead. Unfortunately, the offence stalled in the second quarter, with George Brown recording only six points in the frame, giving them a slim 27–25 advantage at halftime.
The third quarter was back-and-forth, but the Surge ended the frame on a 14–7 run to take a 45–43 lead into the fourth. Jayme Foreman stepped up massively for the Huskies in the final 10 minutes, leading an 11–5 run to begin the quarter, and they were able to hold onto the lead the rest of the way.
NOTABLE STATS: Foreman led the way with 16 points, three steals, and two rebounds. Mikaela Hawkins had her best game with George Brown, recording a double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, two assists, and a block.
Jordyn Dawkins added 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a block in the win.
UP NEXT: The Huskies begin 2026 with a road trip to Ottawa, Ont., to battle the Algonquin Wolves (4–3). Tip-off is scheduled for 6pm.
