Women's Basketball forward Corrynn Parker and Men’s Volleyball middle blocker Tyrese Broomes have been named the Huskies Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 24th.
The forward went 10-of-19 from the field for a game-high 26 points, while adding eight rebounds and three assists, both team highs, in 39 minutes of action in a win over Algonquin.
The standout moment, though, came with the game on the line. With fewer than 10 seconds left and the team down by one, Parker made a spectacular individual effort to score the game-winning basket with just three seconds remaining.
The second-year middle blocker was remarkably consistent for the Huskies on their road trip to the nation’s capital. He recorded a total of 24 points on 19 kills, two service aces, two blocks, and two block assists.
In the four-set victory over the Coyotes, he posted a career-high 13 points on 11 kills, a service ace, and two block assists.
