The George Brown Huskies men’s volleyball team is excited to announce the commitment of Trent Ketrzynski to the program for the rest of the 2025-2026 season.
“We were confident that Trent would add value to our culture and raise the standards on the court. Since joining, he’s consistently early to the gym, dialed in at practice, and building trust with the team,” explained head coach Tyler Latu’ila.
Ketrzynski has an extensive volleyball background. He played two seasons with the TMU Bold and currently competes for Beach Volleyball Canada. His résumé also includes being a four-time national champion and a three-time provincial champion with the Mississauga Pakmen. He earned MVP honours at the 2019 18U National Championships, helping guide his team to another Canadian title, and was also a three-time city champion at York Mills Collegiate Institute.
“I like the team, and it’s a great opportunity for me to play here and compete,” said Ketrzynski. “I was very excited to help the team close out the season strong.”
Latu’ila believes Ketrzynski’s experience in U SPORTS and beach volleyball gives the squad another offensive weapon.
“Trent plays with a quiet confidence, reading the game and making offensive decisions at a level we don’t often see in our league,” Latu’ila added. “He’s an important addition to the squad as we make our push for a banner.”
The 6’6 outside hitter will be enrolling in the Construction Techniques program and is looking forward to continuing his growth both on and off the court at George Brown.
“On the court, I hope to help the team win and play my best volleyball. Off the court, I hope to learn practical skills that will be useful for the rest of my life,” he explained.
The Huskies return to action for the second half of their season on Saturday, January 10, when they face the Fleming Phoenix on the road.
