The George Brown Huskies men’s volleyball team is excited to announce the commitment of Thomas Tucci to the program ahead of the 2025–26 season.
“ With last year’s captain Andrew Rong leaving, it was important to recruit a setter into our program. Thomas stood out in our initial conversations because of his level of commitment and desire to grow within our culture,” second-year head coach Tyler Latu’ila explained.
There were two key reasons why Tucci decided to commit to the Huskies.
“I decided to commit to George Brown because of the school’s great academic reputation and because of the culture within the volleyball program that Coach Tyler is creating,” Tucci explained. “I was very excited when I was offered this opportunity, and am looking forward to being a part of the team.”
Latu’ila believes Tucci has a great mix of physical and mental abilities that will help him thrive as a setter in the OCAA.
“Thomas’ technical and decision-making ability will help him stand out as a setter in our league. He has expressed a desire to be known as an impactful teammate and to leave a legacy with Huskies Men’s Volleyball. I believe we have cultivated an environment in our gym where his leadership skills will be able to be developed and flourish,” the coach said.
The 6’1" setter was a member of the Columbia Bible College Bearcats of the PacWest during the 2023–24 season and previously played for the Ducks Volleyball Club. He will be enrolling in the General Arts and Science program.
“On the court, I hope to be a part of a winning culture and hopefully help bring the team to more success while I’m here. In the classroom, I hope to complete my diploma in pursuit of getting a bachelor’s degree,” he explained.
