The George Brown Huskies men's volleyball team picked up their first win of the season, defeating the St. Lawrence Surge 3–0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-16) in their home opener on Saturday (Nov. 8) afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies came out flying in the opening set, highlighted by a 12-5 run early to take it 25-14.
They kept up the pressure, led by Yaroslav Svidritskiy, who tallied three aces in the second set alone as George Brown took it 25-20. The third set mirrored the first, with the Huskies firing on all cylinders offensively and defensively to close out the sweep.
NOTABLE STATS: Svidritskiy was dominant, tallying 18 points on 12 kills and six service aces, all match highs, while also leading the team with five digs.
Joseph Lee added nine points on eight kills and an ace, while Tyan Suzuki registered a match-high 23 assists.
