The George Brown Huskies women’s volleyball team is excited to announce the addition of Chloe Duhamel ahead of the 2026–2027 season.
"Following the graduation of key student-athletes from our program, we needed to find athletic, versatile players who bring experience in the OVA and a desire to help build our culture. Chloe immediately identified herself as a missing piece for next season's squad. Both physically and from a mentality standpoint, she checks all the boxes," said head coach Daphne Choi.
After connecting with Coach Choi and learning more about the program, Duhamel knew being a Husky was in her future.
“After my call with Coach Choi, I knew that George Brown was the right place for me. Upon receiving my official offer, I was incredibly excited for the chance to be part of such an amazing program,” she explained.
The 6’0” outside hitter has played for the Pacific Coast Volleyball Club in British Columbia over the past few seasons and decided to move across the country to push herself both on and off the court.
“I decided to commit to George Brown because of the amazing team culture, strong coaching staff, and the opportunity to continue developing as an athlete. Additionally, the location, along with the chance to study my desired program, made me confident that George Brown was the right fit for me both on and off the court,” she explained.
From Choi’s perspective, Duhamel brings a skill set that she is eager to integrate into the Huskies system.
"I was able to see Chloe in action on the court, and she is a great teammate. She understands her role and what she needs to do for the team to succeed. She also fills a critical need for us as an aggressive left-handed hitter," said Choi. "In meeting her and her family, I could see why George Brown is a great fit. I've said numerous times over the years that I want to recruit great people before great athletes, Chloe just happens to be both."
Duhamel will be enrolled in the General Arts and Science program and is ready to hit the ground running in all facets of student-athlete life come September.
“During my time at George Brown, I will strive to take every opportunity to grow on and off the court. Athletically, I hope to strengthen my leadership abilities, communication, and overall skill as a player, while maintaining a high GPA in the classroom,” she stated.
