HUSKIES TAKE FIVE-SETTER

HUSKIES TAKE FIVE-SETTER

The George Brown Huskies took down the Georgian Grizzlies by a score of 3–2 (20–25, 25–23, 25–22, 15–25, 16–14) at home on Wednesday (Jan. 28) night.

NOTABLE STATS: Kaarina Niemimaa recorded a season and match-high 17 points on 14 kills, two service aces, and a block, while adding 12 digs, which ranked second on the team.

In possibly her final home match of her career, Alexa Milot put on a show, posting 16 points on 12 kills, three blocks, and a service ace. Jada Morrow was spectacular orchestrating the offence, as she posted a career-high 38 assists in the win.

UP NEXT: The Huskies (7–6) travel north to battle the Canadore Panthers (8–6) on Saturday (Jan. 31) afternoon. George Brown still has a chance to host a playoff crossover match, but they need to beat Canadore to keep that possibility alive. First serve is at 1pm.

George Brown Athletics and Recreation would like to thank our graduating students for their commitment to the team over their Huskies careers. Our 2025-26 graduating Women's Volleyball student-athletes are:

#7 Judith Prades
Prados joined the women's volleyball program in 2025. Her leadership, passion, and positivity have been top-notch. She has been extremely adaptable, playing both outside hitter and setter in various matches this season. She has appeared in 11 career matches, posting 20 points, 13 kills, six service aces, one block, and 39 assists. She will be graduating from the Media Foundations program.

#12 Alexa Milot
Milot joined the program in the spring of 2025 with high expectations to make an impact. Right from the get-go, her athleticism, power, and court IQ were tremendous. In 12 career matches, she recorded 89 points, 77 kills, eight blocks, and four service aces. She will be graduating from the Baking and Pastry Foundations program.

#9 Julia Gordon
A member of the Huskies women's volleyball team since 2022, Gordon has showcased her commitment and leadership while growing tremendously both on and off the court during her four seasons with the team. In 60 career matches, the outside hitter posted 424 points, 309 kills, 88 service aces, and 27 blocks, while recording 307 digs. Her dedication will be missed as she leaves the program. She will graduate from the Honours Bachelor of Commerce – Culinary Management program.
