Women's Volleyball outside hitter Kaarina Niemimaa and Men's Basketball guard Iffy Chiekwe have been named the Huskies Athletes of the Week for the period ending February 1st.
Kaarina Niemimaa, Women’s Volleyball
The fourth-year outside hitter filled the stat sheet with 32 points on 29 kills, two service aces, and a block, while recording 24 digs over two matches.
She played a massive role in the team’s five-set victory over Georgian, recording a team-high 17 points on 14 kills, two service aces, and a block. Defensively, she posted 12 digs, just one shy of the team-high.
Iffy Chiekwe, Men’s Basketball
The fifth-year guard was the Huskies top offensive performer, averaging 17 points, 4.5 rebounds, and four steals over a pair of games. He also knocked down nine three-pointers during that span.
