The George Brown Huskies fell 90–78 to the Georgian Grizzlies on the road Friday (Jan. 30) night.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Iffy Chiekwe was on fire from deep in the first half, going 7-of-14 from the field, including eight three-pointers, for 20 points. He was a big reason the Huskies only trailed 49–38 at the half.
Georgian's offence continued to give George Brown trouble as they opened the second half on a 10–0 run to push their lead to 21. The Huskies responded with an 18–6 run to end the quarter and trailed just 65–56 with 10 minutes left. Unfortunately, they couldn't get any closer.
NOTABLE STATS: Chiekwe posted a team-high 21 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and two assists. Mikey Vicente had his best game as a Husky, recording a career-high 15 points, while Quentin Ollivierre registered 10 points, seven rebounds, a steal, and a block off the bench.
UP NEXT: The Huskies' (3–11) playoff hopes are hanging by a thread. They sit one game back of the St. Lawrence Surge (4–8), with the two teams meeting Sunday (Feb. 1) afternoon in a playoff-type game. Tip-off is set for 3pm.
