The George Brown Huskies fell 104–87 to the Loyalist Lancers at home on Saturday (Jan. 25) afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The first quarter was a track meet, but thanks to Katrel Johnson's seven points, the Huskies trailed only 24–21 after the opening 10 minutes. With the score 32–27 early in the second quarter, the Lancers went on a 22–9 run to head into the locker room with a 54–38 lead.
The Lancers held off a Huskies push in the third quarter to take a 76–63 advantage heading into the fourth. George Brown crashed the glass for offensive boards and second-chance buckets, sparking an 11–4 run to cut the deficit to six. Loyalist responded with a 16–4 run over three minutes to put the game out of reach.
NOTABLE STATS: Tyrese Drummond-Golden filled up the stat sheet off the bench with a team-high 16 points, six rebounds, and two assists, while Kalyem Liburd-Mullings added 12 points. Iffy Chiekwe chipped in 11 points, six rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
