HUSKIES FALL TO CENTENNIAL

The George Brown Huskies dropped a 75-58 decision to the Centennial Colts at home on Friday (Feb. 6) night.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies came out hot thanks to Danny Lazic, who knocked down a pair of three-pointers and finished with 10 points in the opening quarter. George Brown led 21-14 after one. The Colts responded in the second, outscoring the Huskies 20-12 in the frame to take a 34-33 lead at the half.

Iffy Chiekwe led the charge out of the locker room with three three-pointers to keep the game close at 51-50. Unfortunately, Centennial found another gear and outscored the home side 23-8 in the final stretch.

NOTABLE STATS: Lazic finished with 13 points and three rebounds, while Chiekwe filled the stat sheet with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

UP NEXT: The Huskies (4-12) play their final regular-season home game against the Seneca Sting (11-5) on Wednesday (Feb. 11) night. Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm. Prior to the game, the team will honour their graduating student-athletes.
