George Brown men's basketball (9-1, 2nd east) will head to Humber over the break for the East/West Holiday Series, where six of the OCAA's best will be competing.
The 2017 series boasts a particularly impressive group of teams, with four entrants currently ranked among Canada's top-fifteen. The Huskies will face off against each of the three west division teams, and there is only round-robin play with no playoff.
George Brown has been perhaps the toughest defensive team in the province thus far, allowing just 71.5 points per game (2nd) on 35.5% shooting from the field (1st). Their 51.1 rebounds per game places them third overall, and the Huskies have held opponents to 63 points or fewer in half of their games.
First-year Husky Alex Petronis is averaging 19.1 points a night, along with 6.8 boards and nearly three steals. Fellow newcomer Adam Costanzo has been equally impressive, averaging a team-high 8.4 boards, 12.6 points and 1.7 steals.
