About Frankie Gyamfi
Gyamfi passed away after a long battle with cancer in the summer of 2014. He played point guard for the Huskies Men's Basketball team, earning MVP honours in 2011. More importantly than his work on the court, Gyamfi worked as a youth mentor in a tough Toronto neighborhood and was renowned for his positive attitude and motivational outlook. Enrolled in the Business Administration program, a sampling of Gymafi's social media posts include "Another Day, Another Blessing", "Thankful" and he was known to send "Monday Motivation" and "Work Hard Wednesday" texts to friends.
George Brown will host the annual Frankie Gyamfi Memorial High School Basketball tournament this week, with play running Friday through Sunday at Casa Loma and St. James Campus.
Featuring some of the strongest High School teams from across the province, twelve teams will compete at George Brown's two campuses. See below for full tournament schedule.
