George Brown basketball carried the momentum of three opening weekend wins on the road Friday night, sweeping a solid St. Lawrence program in a pair of convincing wins.
The men's team (3-0, 1st east) rode a hot-shooting first half (55.6% from the field) to a 71-61 victory. Dejazmatch James led the Huskies offensively, scoring an efficient 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting, while wing Alex Petronis chipped in with 13.
George Brown continued to get production from Matt Bukovec and Alex Costanzo, as the duo combined for 16 points and 11 boards. With the win, the Huskies now boast an impressive plus-62 point differential through three games and are holding opponents to just over 68 points per game.
Dating back to the beginning of last season, George Brown has now won 22 of their past 23 regular season games.
The women's team (2-0, 1st east) stayed perfect after an 81-61 win that saw them in control from the early going. The Huskies outscored St. Lawrence by 12 points in the third quarter to put the game away, and now boast a plus-38 point differential through two games.
