With their perfect start having reached double-digits, Huskies basketball will hit the road on Tuesday night looking to extend their win streak to twelve against the Georgian Grizzlies.
Led by Dejazmatch James and Alex Petronis, the men's team (6-0, 1st east) are beating opponents by over 17 points a night. James and Petronis are combining for over 34 points per game, forming one of the provinces highest-scoring backcourts. The pair has been incredibly efficient as well, both shooting over 50% from the field.
The Huskies boast the OCAA's second-stingiest defence, allowing just 67.2 points per night and holding opponents to a league-low 33.7% shooting from the field. George Brown also currently ranks among the top-five in points, assists, turnovers, free-throw percentage and three-point percentage.
The women's team (4-0, 1st east) have quickly established themselves among the provinces elite offensive units, ranking second in the province in points per game, second in field goals made per game, fourth in field goal percentage and fifth in three-pointers made. The Huskies push the pace every opportunity they have, and are been lethal in transition.
2016-17 OCAA All-Star Tianna Sullivan has picked up right where she left off, leading George Brown with an average of just under 20 points a night on 51.6% shooting from the field. April Deus has been solid at the point, averaging 14.5 points and a team-best 7.5 assists. The duo have been a terror for opponents on the defensive side of the ball, combining to force nearly eight turnovers a night.
The Grizzlies men's team head into Tuesday's action with a record of 4-2, women's team is 0-5.
