It was a far different outcome since the first time the George Brown men's basketball team met Loyalist College of Belleville in an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association league game.
The Huskies, improving to 11-3, crushed Loyalist 91-67 at the Alex Barbier gym for their third consecutive win and No. 8 in the past nine games. The first time the two teams met, George Brown edged Loyalist, 73-65, in Belleville. Loyalist now has a record of 6-8.
Ahead 22-6 after the opening quarter, George Brown coasted and took a 42-31 lead to the dressing room at halftime. The Huskies established their dominance in the game with a 26-10 run in the third quarter.
Vadim Halimov, now with a career-high 1,701 points and just two out of moving in to second place in the OCAA list of top scorers, had a game-high 32 points including four three-point buckets. He also had 10 rebounds. John Cadougan, George Brown's male athlete of the week, had 16 points and Akai Nettey added 12. Eleven George Brown players scored points.
