BARRIE - Vadim Halimov said he was glad it's over.
Not the basketball season, but the provincial records all three.
The George Brown shooting guard was talking about the year-long challenge to get to the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association basketball record books.
With 55.2 seconds left until halftime against the host Georgian College squad, Halimov sank two free throws and record No. 3 had his name on it.
"Right now, I really don't care about records," said the 25-year old, disappointed after the Georgian College Grizzlies beat him and his teammates, 99-94, in overtime. "The objective remains it's a team objective of winning the gold medal. That's what counts."
Halimov, the Huskies team leader and captain, had another 30-point game something that has become a trademark in his final year of sports eligibility. To be exact, 38 points, 11 rebounds and 7-for-10 from the free throw line in the loss to Georgian.

But he was upset, rightly so, and nowhere near the jubilation shown on Valentine's Day night when he set the first two OCAA records.
"We're all disappointed - can't expect (Halimov) to bail us out every game," said Huskies head coach Jonathan Smith. "We had a chance to send (Georgian) away and thinking about the summer. Instead, we gave them a win and a playoff spot. That's not the way we want to head to the playoffs."
George Brown gets a first round bye to the OCAA playoffs and will next play on Feb. 27 at Sheridan College in Oakville. The opponents still to be determined.
"Georgian led 17-16 after the opening quarter, 37-36 at halftime while the game was tied 85-85. Ted Johnson forced OT with a bucket as the buzzer went to end regulation time.
