Ricardo Brown, who has a superb tournament with 43 points and some solid defensive work, was the Huskies top player in the finale with 14 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Thompson and Akai Nettey each added 11 while Kevon Mascoe, with 10, was the fourth George Brown player to hit for double points.
George Brown, ahead 35-33 at halftime, out-rebounded John Abbott, 55-26 and had a 21-3 edge in second chance points.
Against Georgian College, the Barrie school won 61-58 in a nail-biter.
Brown, a point guard and former Most Valuable Player in high school, and Nettey each led George Brown scorers with 15 points in a game that was close from start to finish. Huskies led 22-21 after the opening quarter and Georgian was up 45-43 at halftime.
In the Huskies opening game of the tournament, Kasey Morris scored 19 points and Brown added 14 but George Brown still fell short losing 93-72 to Vanier College of Montreal.
Vanier led 25-20 after the opening quarter and 50-36 at halftime. George Brown had the edge in free throws (19-14) and points off the bench (39-34). Vanier controlled the rebounds (49-39) and had a 9-3 edge from the three-point line. - DG
